About page changed to ClubPhoto July 2010 'Community Cashback' is a new scheme in England and Wales which gives local people a say in how £4million of recovered criminal assets (for example confiscated cash or property) should be spent in their communities. The shortlist for London's potential projects was reduced to 25 in September, which were then put to the public vote to decide who would receive a £20,000 grant. And thanks in part to Croydon Harriers, as well as the other users of the track, the Arena was named as one of the five recipients. The effects of the scheme are beginning to come to fruition, with a number of new security cameras being installed around the facility. Improved perimeter fencing is also on the horizon, in addition to a new paint job to the stands and other Arena buildings. Watch this space for further developments, and of course, thank you to all who voted! For more information about the scheme visit the official Community Cashback Website. | |
