Coach Paul Weston celebrates Elliot Bailey's Wills Cup win
The 2011 Croydon Harriers’ awards dinner took place on Friday, celebrating the best club performances of the year.

With over 130 attendees of Harriers old and new packed into Trinity School, the event remains the showpiece of the club social calendar.

Just some of the treats on offer to those who attended included:

A picture quiz of Harriers and Internationals
A video playlist of club performances from events this year
A stunning display of action shots provided by Joe Stainthorpe

Post dinner, it was down to the awards, with all prizes accompanied by a professional slideshow created by Martin Rowe and a musical entrance theme. All awards were presented by outgoing President Ricky Toomey and incoming President Chris King .

This year the Jack Lisney Salver (Oustanding Contribution award) went to Colin Oxlade :


There were of course many highlights during the evening, the main ones being the Special awards as decided by the selection committee. James Eccles (Coach of the Year), Ashleigh Clarke (Young Athletes Progress), Neil Aikman, Cora Sexton (Best Club spirit, both), Mandy Rowley-Jones and Clarence Riley (Veterans awards, both) were present to collect their awards. Marie Rooney collected the Jack Lisney Cup (Best Performance Over21) on behalf of her GB International son Martyn.

After an array of Harriers were commended and rewarded for their outstanding efforts during the year, the night culminated in the club saluting a true Croydon legend.

A member for over 60 years, you need look no further than Don Webb for the epitome of what club athletics is all about. A quality athlete as well as a hardworking behind the scenes worker and official, Don has been an absolute trooper for the club and for the sport.
