Home Page with the Announcement Line scrolling nicely from left to right (well it is on the main site if you are not looking at this image). Internet Explorer 8.x Tools Menu - Note there is no tick by the side of 'Compatability View' so the Announcement Line will be static and not scrolling. Click on it and it will with IE8.x Internet Explorer not in Compatability View - Note the Announcement Line (under the Harriers Banner)is static and not scrolling from left to right Announcement Line scrolling correctly from Left to Right You may be visiting the Croydon Harriers website and at the first page (Home Page), under the Croydon Harriers top large banner there is an announcement line which should scroll from left to right which is intended to highlight important notices or to emphasis a recent update to the website or act as a general reminder. You can move your mouse pointer over the wording to pause the line from scrolling as most of the Announcement Line will have links to 'jump' to a web page so you can read more about that heading.
However with Microsoft Internet Explorer, often the security is too much when you don't want it and this can prevent the page from displaying correctly and the Announcement Line does not scroll.
To get round this - refer to the images within this news item - clicking on the images to make them larger to see the examples and how to correct the problem by adding Croydon Harriers site to a 'compatability' list so when you visit the site, it will display the site correctly.
If you have Internet Explorer 8.x - From the menu: Tools/Compatibility View - this will then add the site to the list and the announcement line will then scroll correctly. |
