 Surrey Schools Team marching into Birmingham Stadium for the English Schools earlier this month  Karim Irving (centre) and Lawrence Okoye (right) at the English Schools Champs in Birmingham earlier this month The cream of Croydon’s young athletes led by junior international discus star Okoye, will be representing Surrey Schools in the English School’s Championships at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham together with Trinity’s senior hammer thrower, Andrew Jordan and Tunde Amosu Oasis Cousldon triple jumper who is another UK ranking topper.
Elliiot Safo the Trinity U17 long jumper, Joshua Street St Joseph’s ace U17 one lapper and South of England senior men’s pole vault champion Ned Quiney (Wilson’s) are also expected to make a big impact
Big local hopes among the girls are senior sprinter Twinelle Hopeon, Archbishop Tenison’s, already a junior international, and versatile young talent Shirin Irving, Virgo Fidelis who will be contesting the junior hurdles.
